Stuff I saw on the internet last week: "When Affleck rises, Damon must fall"
Happy Monday, y’all! I don’t have much in the way of intros this morning, so let’s get to it.
So hey! Paid subscribers get bonus newsletter content AND get the self-satisfaction of being my favourites among all the newsletter subscribers. It’s just $5 a month, or $50 a year, which is two months free! Last week, paid subscribers got my thoughts on all the media I consumed during my vacation, including Fear Street, Mythic Quest, The Inheritance Games, How It Ends, Verity, and more. Click below if you’d like to check that out!
ICYMI in last week’s internet roundup, my podcast, I Hate It But I Love It, is doing a whole week of baseball movies, and we kicked things off with the 1984 Robert Redford film The Natural, which I know is a beloved sports film, but I’m sorry, it’s totally bonkers. And this Wednesday’s episode will be about Major League! You should subscribe, if you wanna be cool. (You can find I Hate It But I Love It in all the usual places, including Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, and Pocket Casts.)
TWEETS!

This one makes my blood fucking boil:
our daughter has been fervant in trying to get something that belonged to her mother. She hasn't been particularly picky she just wants something. The problem is, as she's been bugging me about this for the past couple months as I've been slowly widdling away at the pile (donating mostly) and frankly I don't think she should get anything. We never believed it was healthy to attatch value to things here - as again with the passing of my partner they don't follow. Frankly my daughter doesn't need any of these items, atleast not as much someone else would and my partner didn't leave her anything either.
“I let a two-year-old have two ice cream cones rather than do actual parenting”:
The thing about my daughter is if I took an ice cream away, it would be an atomic meltdown. The kind of meltdown you just say "fuck it" and go home immediately instead of any other plans you had.
I told my niece that she shouldn't have given her the ice cream because if we're going to continue our day, she will need to have both
Yeah, this friendship is absolutely over:
She told me she can't be happy for us, that she doesn't care that I'm getting married or moving or buying a house. That she's single as fuck and moving home so she doesn't want to hear anything about it. That she was having the worst time ever, that she hated being there, that she wanted to go home because this was an awful trip and she couldn't stand listening to us. That she can't tolerate our opinions on things, hates being asked about animals, and hated our dogs and us talking about our dogs. That the dogs being at the campsite is ruining it all. That we were annoying and she didn't want to be near us. She said some other shit too, but I stopped listening.
I’ve seen this before but it still makes me laugh:

A good video of a cat getting brushed.
Just your typical ice cream store.
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only early teen who was catfishing people online and then not knowing how to get out so lying that I died.
I know exactly how this girl feels.
“The shortest date in history caught on camera.”
A funny, non-mean prank.
I wish I had perfect pitch like this guy.
“Is this a portable shot glass?”
