Stuff I saw on the internet last week: "bredn buddr"
Happy Monday! Don’t forget that voting for the Canadian Podcast Awards closes May 29th, and I would VERY much appreciate if you would go vote for my podcast I Hate It But I Love It in the People’s Choice category. You don’t have to be Canadian to vote! Go vote here. (Also, if you’re a Canadian podcaster, I would also be very grateful for your vote for Outstanding Television & Film series.) Thank you so much to everyone who votes!
Speaking of my podcast (I’ll move on after this, I promise), on last week’s episode of I Hate It But I Love It, Jocelyn and I continued Teen Movie Month by looking back at Dazed & Confused, a movie both of us actually legitimately enjoyed. Of course, THIS Wednesday’s episode will be about Sixteen Candles, a movie that we found EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT. You should subscribe! (You can find I Hate It But I Love It in all the usual places, including Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, and Pocket Casts.)
TWEETS!

CANCEL THE WEDDING AND LEAVE HIS ASS:
The one thing I was adamant on was that I was making my wedding dress and baby’s dress... It’s been very clear this was the plan so when MIL came to us gushing about the dress she just got baby to wear for wedding, I was livid.
I said take it back, I'm making the dress. She said I should be grateful she’d been proactive when I hadn't, that baby would probably have nothing to wear on the day if it was left to me. She said it cost her a lot of money and won’t be able to return it. I left & fiancé told me she broke down crying and was ‘inconsolable’.
After He shouted at me for treating his mum like that and told me how I was turning into a bridezilla.
This dude’s vocals are BONKERS.
No mention at all of what her daughter wants:
I (28F) gave birth to my daughter Alyssa when I was 17. My mom and I have always had a difficult relationship and not long after I gave birth, she kicked me out and I went to live with my aunt while she raised Alyssa. I went to college in another state after, and though I've seen Alyssa some since then, my relationship with my mom prevented me from being there for her. Since I graduated, I've managed to start a pretty successful business and my fiancée and I are currently in the process of purchasing our first home. I'm ready to be a mom now, and I really want to support my daughter. I had originally contacted my mother and told her that I was ready for Alyssa to come live with me, but she said no. Because of this, I've decided to file for full custody of her.
I love a good thread about stupid rules your school enforced:
We suddenly one day weren’t allowed to stand in circles during recess because, and I quote “we could be dealing drugs.” I will add that for the years prior we had been standing in circles no problem.
Next recess, we stood in a triangle, cue principle going apeshit.
This would drive me absolutely crazy and I don’t understand how people live this way:
My (28) best friend (32) always wants to play everything by ear. For example, if we are thinking about getting together for a movie, and we are trying to pick a day/ time. We will both suggest some times, and then she will say “let’s play it by ear.”
I tried to meet up with her for her bday and suggested this weekend. She said “that’s so fun” but “let’s play it by ear.”
She has never made actual concrete plans for us to do something on planned day/time. On the day off she either says yes or no.
This person is clearly the asshole just for this goddamned sentence:
Homophobia aside, my grandparents are amazing, hardworking, good people.

“I hid under the couch and did this.”
Wait, is all of this in the same house?!
“Is your ice cream machine working?”
I would die for Beatrice.
Aw, so heartwarming.
I’ve watched this one multiple times.
Say what you want about raccoons, but they’re determined.
A great reaction video.
For all the people with hurt backs.
EGGCEPTIONAL! (That is both a pun on Inception and “exceptional.”)
