Stuff I saw on the internet last week: "bravely combatting impostor syndrome by being genuinely bad"
Happy Monday, y’all! As usual, I watched a crapton of TV and movies over the weekend and also spent way too much time on my phone. Let’s look at some fun internet stuff!

This month on I Hate It But I Love It, Jocelyn and I are still just doing movies we really, really love — last week, Jocelyn got to present An American Werewolf In London, which is great, and on this Wednesday’s episode, we’ll be talking about one of my faves, Whip It. GO. TO. THERAPY:
My best friend and her bf are going to move here. I had a really bad reaction when she told me. I just envisioned years of faking my excitement about her relationship, plus her trying to glom onto me and my friend group. It’s like she’s a part of my past but it would be weird if she was part of my future. I’ve kind of moved on from who I was when we were closer. And being around her bf constantly makes me miserable because I’m so envious.
I hope she dumps your jealous ass:
So basically she actually works about 4 and a half hours daily, and does her own thing for about 2 hours, just paying enough attention to reply to emails that come in.
I basically work nonstop 8:30 to 5 or 6 pm, working 8.5 to 9.5 hours a day. I don't take breaks in the workday to shower or eat breakfast and lunch or do household chores.
And a few weeks ago I got kinda frustrated with her for basically hardly doing anything for her job at all. And that they were overpaying her if she was spending half the day slacking.
I just… wow. WOW:
Last week she called me crying. It's cancer and advanced since it's not easily detectable. I was distraught as well but when she started saying how could this happen, I mentioned that this shouldn't be a surprise given our family history. She got really silent and asked me what I meant and I unloaded on her. I've seen my mom suffer, my aunt pass away and I'm so fucking sick and terrified of this stupid disease. It's INCREDIBLY unfair that we have it, that our genes suck and I didn't want us to go through it. She is working part time and I'm not sure about her insurance and I'm not sure how we're going to get care. I work as an engineer and have money saved up so I'll help her out but I can't help feeling that she needs to take responsibility for this. She's buried her head in the sand for too long.
This video just makes me happy.
